| Dragon Ball was the original anime series before Dragon Ball Z. It aired in the U.S. last year but had bad ratings so it was cancelled. Dragon Ball was about the adventures of Goku as he grows up. It starts off with Goku meeting Bulma. He hasn't seen a girl before or a car so he thinks Bulma is a monster at first. He soon befriends her and she tells him about the dragon balls. She tells him that who ever possesses the dragon balls is granted one wish by the eternal Dragon. So, the two go off and try to find the dragon balls. On the way they meet Oolong, Yamcha, Kamesennin MutenRoshi (Master Roshi), Chi-Chi, and the Ox King. Then they battle Pilaf. After the Pilaf series, Goku enters the World Martial Arts Tournament. There he meets Klilyn, Chaozu, and Tenshinhan. After this series is the Android series. Here, Goku meets Dr. Gero. Dr. Gero planned to destroy Goku and unleached Android #8. Dragon Ball Z is the continuation of the original Dragon Ball series. It was introduced a few years after the last Dragon Ball episode, but unlike Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z has a different plot. Dragon ball Z is geared toward more mature kids through it's battles and plot while the original Dragon Ball was geared more to little kids. The Dragon Ball Z series is divided into four sagas. In each saga, the Z warriors fight the same villain over and over. The first saga is the Vegeta Saga. This is after the battle against Piccolo. Here, Goku now has a son named Son Gohan. Goku learns of his origins through his brother, Raditzu, who lands on earth looking for him. He learns his race is the Saiyan and that he was sent to earth to wipe out the inhabitants. Raditzu tries to persuade Goku to join him in conquering the universe but Goku resists. Raditzu kidnaps Gohan to blackmail Goku into helping him. Goku teams up with Piccolo against a common enemy.
